Exercise: The Simple 'Being' - Tuning into Your True Self

there's a simple exercise that can help you tune into your authentic self.

Steps:

  1. Recall the 'you' when you are in a dream during sleep.
  2. Compare this 'you' with the 'you' you feel right now. Confirm that they are the same.
  3. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Count to 20 in your mind.
  4. From the perspective of this 'you,' how do you feel right now? What emotions are you experiencing, and what thoughts are going through your mind?
  5. Acknowledge these feelings and emotions by saying "there is" in your mind. For example, "there is boredom," "I forgot the count," or "I feel a sensation in my stomach."
It is said that during sleep, our state of consciousness is subdued, while in wakefulness, it is heightened. Yet, whether dreaming or awake, the observer within — the 'me' that perceives — remains constant.

I believe this method is the best way to address and fulfill our deep-seated need for acceptance and recognition. Speaking of topics that satiate these deficiencies, a concrete example is how it allowed me to experientially grasp the content described in the following link, particularly at Stage 6: The Unitive or Ironist Stage.
